How quick the light changes

We had just finished a visit to Cuanajo and were headed back to Paztcuaro and I saw a field of wildflowers.
Pulling over I took a few pictures in the magical late day light.
These two pictures were taken within 5 minutes and 5 feet of each other.
A little more Mitchoacan magic!

Friday Market

Awww yes, Friday market at Plaza San Francisco.

Old women trading stories on the same spot as their
parents and grandparents did, Families that have been here so long that Spanish is still a second language to them.

Colorful flowers for sale next to the hand made pots you can plant them in.

Patzcuaro Portals

Back home, a door is just a door.
Here you never know what wonder you will find.
Will it be a 400 year old courtyard or a shop filled
with crafts and treasures from around the lake?

At the Market in Morelia

There is a certain atmosphere in the markets in Mexico that is indefinable.
But I think you can get a sense of it these images, whether its the colours that abound
or the impression of the torch being handed from one generation to another while watching a
a grandfather pass his granddaughter some bags in the flower shop.

My first Patzcuaro Morning

Here are 2 pictures from the first morning I woke up in Patzcuaro.
Late October 2004, wandering out of the Hotel Los Escudos out into
the Plaza Grande, with mist caressing the statue. I took a few pictures
then sat and read my book then I noticed two gentlemen on another bench.

It was that morning that I knew that I would find my way back here one way or another.
